Computing Teaching

Computing, E-Safety and the quality of ICT Mark’s in schools that we have consistently worked with have been praised by Ofsted and most recently, in December 2017 in one schools report the Ofsted inspector said “Pupils of all ages are taught how to stay safe when using computers. Discussions with pupils showed that they could give practical examples of what to do in a range of different concerning situations when using a computer online.”

If you are finding it hard to deliver the computing curriculum then we are here to help. With many packages available from one off’s, half a day every two weeks all the way to a full day a week, our computing curriculum instructor can provide the schemes of work, lesson plans and the teaching to KS1 and KS2 and providing effective, engaging and entertaining lessons. From algorithm to e-safety, animation to scratch.

Lessons can be tailored around your school’s needs including linking with other subjects. Units include, networking and the internet. e-safety, algorithms, coding with Scratch, coding with Kodu, digital art and graphics.

An ICT Mark assessor stated in a report in a school we support for both technical support and teaching ‘The school engages with an external technical support agency who works as a partnership with the school which works very effectively.’ and ‘The appointment of a new subject specific computing teacher who also has experience at secondary is extremely beneficial to the school, staff feel supported in teaching computing, and are able to get their own skill levels increased, while pupils gain a significantly higher quality of computing teaching that they would achieve otherwise at this point’.

In the same school school where we provide a full day teaching every week, the Ofsted report stated ‘The teaching in computing is outstanding. Pupils have high levels of confidence using computers in their lessons. They confidently write algorithms and basic computer programs. Pupils make outstanding progress and achieve high standards in computing’

Daily rates start from £180 for regular PPA cover or £230 for one off daily sessions to cover certain aspects of the curriculum of E-Safety.

Parent E-Safety after school briefings can be provided upon request.
