This event is targeted at children in year 3/4 who would benefit from taking part in this event which aims to give them a positive experience of physical activity. It is aimed at those who have not had the opportunity to represent their school at previous activities/events.
This event is part of the School Games programme and therefore open to all schools to enter.
A key objective of the Year 3&4 Tennis Festival is to introduce new players to the game of tennis and to offer these young people a positive experience in which they will be inspired to continue playing the sport in the future. The event is for young people who are beginners or are new to the game of tennis it is not suitable for those who already play.
Teams/Squads: Schools are able to bring three teams of up to 10 children.
Schools are encouraged to target children who have not had the opportunity to participate in an activity where they represent the school previously this year. The activities are suitable for children who are beginners to Tennis and encourage children to work cooperatively as a group or pair. You may decide to identify children who need support with making friends, working with peers or communication. Or you may have children in your school who would benefit from taking part in the event to improve their self esteem or reduce stress.
Children will rotate around a carousel of up to 10 Tennis based activities which will be led and explained by young sports leaders from Soham Village College.
