Rounders Summer Festival

This festival is aimed at all children in Key Stage 2. There are five activities/games for Year 5/6 and five different activities/games for Year 3/4. Each activity/game focuses on different skill development within the sport of Rounders.

This is a fun and friendly event, the focus should be on enjoyment, inclusion, participation, and teamwork.

Why not run this as a class, bubble or intra-school competition? You could get whole year groups out for a morning of Rounders fun and have everyone involved.

Rounders Summer Challenge

This is a personal best challenge aimed at all children in key stage 2. There are five activities/games, each of which challenge a different skill relating to Rounders.

Children can aim to complete all five of the activities/games over the course of a few lessons, or complete them as part of a circuit in one lesson. The resources have suggestions for distances but you can increase or decrease these depending upon your group. It is also advised that you have a variety of bats and balls available.

The focus of this event is on determination and self belief.

There is the option of using the record sheet provided if you wish. However this is not essential, following a trial with year 5 at a local primary school they very much enjoyed just having a go at the activities and trying their best without the targets. Choose what you think would work best for your school.
