ORIENTEERING TEAM CHALLENGE

We have set three challenges each for KS1, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6. Similar to our annual Orienteering festival our aim with this event was to target those children who perhaps don’t enjoy traditional sports as such, and who due to COVID-19 have become less active. We hope that these ideas will enable them to enjoy working as a team while being active and gaining a sense of achievement. Each challenge encourages teamwork and problem solving and uses minimal equipment. Feel free to pick and choose which activities you would like to do, or do all three, all the resources are provided for you to print off.

19th October – 11th December

Who for: Separate resources for KS1, Y3/4 and Y5/6

Outline of event: Children will work in small group of approx 5 for each of the activities. There are three suggested activities for each age group. All activities are non-competitive but encourage children to develop skills such as teamwork, cooperation and communication. It would be easy for you to introduce competition if you wanted to do so, but just timing how quickly they can complete the challenge.

We hope you have fun with these activities, all the information and resources can be found below or please contact Helen or Charlie if you have any questions.

Rewards: You will be able to get emailed participation certificates for individuals or groups taking part in this challenge which you can display at school or put onto your website. You will also get the chance to enter a raffle to win a 60 min Q and A session with a GB Paralympic athlete, details on this will follow.
