This event is aimed at children in mainstream or special schools with special educational needs or a disability. This could be combination of physical, learning or sensory.  So, any child on the SEN register or attending a Special School is eligible to participate.

Theme

The theme of this event will be around building the self-belief of the children taking part. For a flavour of what this event involves you can watch this video:

Team Information

Teams are made up of between 5-8 children of either gender (7-8 is the ideal number). All children will be involved in all of the activities.

We recommend that you bring your own first aid trained member of staff.

Format

You will need to arrive for 10:20am, the competition will begin at 10:30am and finish at approximately 12-12:15pm.

Each team will rotate around a circuit of 6 activities. Each activity will be fully explained at the event, teams do not need to have any prior knowledge or experience to be able to participate. Each activity will be scored, but the focus is on working as a team and supporting/encouraging each other.

School teams will stay together throughout all the activity rotations and collect team points.

All teams taking part will receive Panathlon t-shirts, certificates and medals.

IMPORTANT: Following this event there will be opportunity for the winning mainstream team to go on to represent the district at the Countywide Disability and Inclusion Festival on Thursday 24th March at the St Ives indoor centre.

If we have any special schools taking part in this event our aim is to offer an alternative pathway for them to progress to a Special School specific county Panathlon event to be held in June 2022.
