The healthy selfie campaign is for schools and families to show how they stay active and promote and celebrate healthy lifestyles. This can be anything from going for a walk, PE lessons, active breaks, trampolining in the garden, active learning, a trip out in nature, cooking healthy foods or making healthy snack options.

Our aim is to stay connected and to share ideas of how to stay healthy, celebrating those big and small healthy choices and inspiring others to be active and eat well.

There will be a weekly theme! So why not set yourself a challenge of doing a healthy selfie each week of the campaign?!

Week One – ‘Lets Get Going!’ This week is all about getting started – why not get out for a puddle walk or bike ride? Or you could get healthy in the kitchen with some healthy snacks or meals? Or get inventing – making up your own active game, playing football or setting yourself a personal challenge!

Week Two – ‘Get Others Involved’. This week can you do a healthy selfie with someone else? Perhaps get someone in your household to join you in your healthy endeavor? It can be anyone in your household – including any four legged friends or pets! Or you could get healthy with someone during a video call and take a selfie of yourselves!

Week Three – ‘Get a PB’. The challenge this week is to take a selfie while getting a personal best or trying something NEW. Can you improve your score on keepy uppy’s, skipping or throwing/catching? Can you increase the distance you walk or run? Can you try a new activity you haven’t done before?

Week Four – ‘Get Outdoors’. The challenge this week is to get outside for your selfie. Perhaps go for a walk, scoot or bike ride? Get out into the garden for some Football, Trampolining or Fitness? Perhaps set up an obstacle course in your garden?

To get involved as a school all you need to do is:

  • Set aside a noticeboard area for children and staff to display their pictures, perhaps set up a virtual noticeboard on your school website?
  • Set the healthy selfie challenge as a homework task
  • Celebrate children’s successes
  • Tweet what you have been doing using #CandPHealthySelfie and don’t forget to tag us in it too! @improveitltd and @witchfordSSP

Please feel free to use our Healthy Selfie v2 poster to promote this campaign in your schools.

Here are a couple of short videos from the Hunts School Sports Partnership with an introduction to the Healthy Selfie month and some ideas what you can do.

Week 3!

Staying active and eating well is even more important in the current climate so get involved and share what you are doing! We can’t wait to see your healthy selfies!
