This is an inclusive event which is all about ‘Getting Active Together’. The aim is to get as many young people as possible involved, doing short bursts of activity together and having fun. Together the young people can work towards the goal of achieving the 60 active minutes daily recommendation.
For this week we have teamed up with South Cambs Sports Partnership and Tanzii TV to bring you a variety of fantastic and fun filled activities. Our aim is to show just how fun exercise and movement can be and to help children achieve their 60 minutes a day of physical activity. Firstly, we have created a brand new resource where each day sees a new challenge which can be easily and quickly introduced by teachers for children to independently complete. You will be provided with a short overview of each daily activity and also a sheet for you to display for the young people to follow.
Alongside this, Dario and Ottavio from Tanzii TV, will be releasing daily videos on their YouTube channel, including a ‘Video of the Day’ and ‘Exercise of the Day’ which can be done in school or at home to get children up and moving.
You can pick which video or activity to use and choose when to use it, for example in PE lessons, as an active break or as a homework task. Can you challenge yourselves to do an activity every day of the week?
Wednesday 22nd September 2021 is National Fitness Day – how will you celebrate? Could you involve families by setting a homework task? Or could you get the whole school doing a special Tanzii TV video in a virtual assembly?
The focus of this week is about how being active can be fun when you do it together. Achieving the 60 active minutes can be achieved by doing short bursts of exercise. This can improve your mood, mental health and give you more energy.
