This event is targeted at children in KS2 or specifically year 5 or 6 who would benefit from taking part in this event which aims to give them a positive experience of physical activity. It is aimed at those who have low self-esteem, need support to make friends, have not represented the school previously and who could struggle with specific challenges such as transition to secondary school.

The ‘Friendship Games’ is a non-competitive festival linked to the ethos of the Commonwealth Games. Children will rotate around a carousel of targeted activities which will be explained and demonstrated by young sports leaders from the host secondary school. The event will provide the opportunity for children to engage in new and fun activities, while developing social skills and relationships with peers and students at the host school.

This event is aimed at;

  • Children in year 6 who are preparing to transition to year 7 in September who have higher than usual feelings of apprehension about the change.
  • Children in KS2 who would benefit from the opportunity to develop social connections with their peers and improve self-esteem.

Please specify how many children you would like to bring along to this event in the comments section below (if different to 12). There will be a morning and an afternoon session available.

Morning session – 10:30am till 12pm.

Afternoon session – 1pm till 2:30pm.

Please note: The option for transport is only available to those schools who have purchased transport credits through the Witchford Sports Partnership subscription package.
