This event id for KS2/year 3/4
- Schools can enter one team of between 10-15. They must identify their team as ASPIRE or PLUS upon booking.
- Each group will spend approx. 20 minutes at each station before moving on to the next station in the rotation.
- They will have some time to practice before playing a mini-game where they can earn points for their teams. These games will involve everyone in the team and will not involve members of other teams.
- There will not be a break between rotations.
This is a School Games Competition and is a PLUS competition. This means it is for pupils predominately from Special Schools that may have a number of impairments that are towards the severe end of the spectrum, this could be a combination of physical, learning or sensory. The nature of impairments means that they cannot compete in a standard competition format. They require assistance and support to carry out instructions/actions during the activities. Pupils performing at National Curriculum level 1/2 would be at the top of the range. Schools entering PLUS teams will be able to qualify for the Level 3 School Games Adapted Multi-Sport Plus Competition, should they win this Level 2 event.
We are aware that most of our mainstream schools will not be able to bring a PLUS team, but they would be able to enter an ASPIRE team. Aspire Competitions are for pupils predominately in mainstream schools who have a recognised SEN/D or additional needs. Pupils may be in a lower ability PE group and would not be able to compete in a standard school team. Pupils could have physical, learning or sensory impairments. Schools entering ASPIRE teams will NOT be able to qualify for the Level 3 School Games Adapted Multi-Sport Plus Competition, but their achievements will be recognized in the closing ceremony of this event.
Deadline for entries is 14th September 2018
