About Us

Improve it and the Witchford Sports Partnership work with and support the young people and staff within 51 primary schools, 8 secondary schools and 3 special schools in the East Cambs and Fenland District, specialising in the provision of high quality Physical Education (PE).

The two companies merged in September 2016 to become an independent company, however, our vision remains the same, that all young people should receive high quality PE, physical activity and school sport. The Witchford Sports Partnership was established in September 2004 through the Government funded national PE School Sport & Club Links programme, and was originally based at Witchford Village College.

We have over 10 years of experience in providing schools with a wide range of services. These include competitions and festivals, staff training, sports leader training for pupils, introducing new sports and activities and helping schools achieve their 60 active minutes. Alongside this, we run the School Games programme which is a Government led programme, funded by Sport England and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust. More information on the School Games programme can be found by clicking here.

Many of our programmes not only get young people active, but they can also build confidence and self-esteem, help raise attainment and improve behaviour. Although most of our programmes are PE and physical activity based, many are designed to help schools achieve whole school priorities such as engaging pupil premium children, engaging parents and developing health and well-being. Our services provide opportunities for all age groups and abilities of children from Early Years to Year 6.

The services offered also meet the requirements of the PE and Sport Premium funding schools receive each year and can also be used as evidence for Ofsted.
